One of the questions that people out of Mormonism have is if Mormons get their own planets in the after life.
I know Mormons might act like they don’t know where that came from and sometimes they don’t even like the question.
In my opinion, their leaders are the ones to blame since they were the ones who introduce that idea or doctrine.
Brigham Young , the Second Prophet of the LDS Church said:
President Brigham Young taught … that God the Father was once a man on another planet who ‘passed the ordeals we are now passing through…

Lorenzo Snow, one of the former prophets of the LDS Church said once:
… the Spirit of the Lord rested mightily upon me—the eyes of my understanding were opened, and I saw as clear as the sun at noon-day, with wonder and astonishment, the pathway of God and man. I formed the following couplet which expresses the revelation, as it was shown me … As man now is, God once was: As God now is, man may be.

So there you have it, Mormon Prophets telling was the God was a man once.
If you hear Mormon prophets saying that God was once a man, I can see how people in or outside Mormonism could have reached the conclusion that you are on the same path that God once was, including having your own planet.
I think the idea that Mormons will get their own planet is embedded in Mormon doctrine.
Let’s have a look at three points of Mormon doctrine that support that Mormons will have their own planet.

Marriage in Mormonism
Mormons believe that we have heavenly parents so they are saying that God has a wife or wives.
I say wives because polygamy was a thing in Mormonism so If Joseph Smith had more than 20 wives because God ordered him to do so. I don’t see why the God of Mormonism couldn’t do the same himself if he wanted to.
Now that you know that, let’s check what one of the passage in the Doctrine and Covenant that the main reason why Mormons should marry other faithful mormons.
Section 131 of the Doctrine and Covenant says:
1 In the celestial glory there are three heavens or degrees;
2 And in order to obtain the highest, a man must enter into this order of the priesthood [meaning the new and everlasting covenant of marriage];
3 And if he does not, he cannot obtain it.

So they want you to marry a woman in the temple so you can have a celestial wife.
Doesn’t that sound like something that God did according to Mormonism?
The God or Mormonism has a wife and you should be married to be exalted?
Spirit – Offspring
Now you have the celestial wife for all eternity, now what are you gonna do for the rest of your life?
You have plenty of time.
Check what I found in a book made by the Church called Doctrines of the Gospel – Student Manual
“It is the blessed privilege of resurrected beings who attain an exaltation in the celestial kingdom to enjoy the glory of endless increase, to become the parents of generations of spirit-offspring, and to direct their development through probationary stages analogous to those through which they themselves have passed.
Celestial Marriage
After reading that, I have to ask you again:
Doesn’t that sound like something that God did according to Mormonism?
If you didn’t need a planet to live happily ever after with your wife or wives, now you need one if you are going to have billions of spirit children
Spirit-Off Spring Need Bodies
So according to Mormonism, you get married in the temple, you remain faithful and you make it to the top of the celestial kingdom where the premium features are unlocked and you can have spirit – Offspring.
What does Mormon doctrine have to say about having no physical bodies:
Joseph Smith also taught that Satan’s punishment for his rebellion is that “he shall not have a tabernacle.” Without a tabernacle, or a body, our spirits cannot progress.
The Body: A Burden or a Blessing?
So if you want that spirit -offspring to make some progress, they need to have a body.
How can they get bodies?
Being born from other humans? maybe?
I am not an expert in making things up but creating a planet and placing two naked humans in a garden seems like the way to go.
I see the cycle repeating itself according to Mormon Doctrine

The Church in its becoming like God essay says:
For example, scriptural expressions of the deep peace and overwhelming joy of salvation are often reproduced in the well-known image of humans sitting on their own clouds and playing harps after death. Latter-day Saints’ doctrine of exaltation is often similarly reduced in media to a cartoonish image of people receiving their own planets.
A cloud and harp are hardly a satisfying image for eternal joy, although most Christians would agree that inspired music can be a tiny foretaste of the joy of eternal salvation. Likewise, while few Latter-day Saints would identify with caricatures of having their own planet, most would agree that the awe inspired by creation hints at our creative potential in the eternities.
Becoming Like God
Conclusion
The becoming like God essay is pathetic, Mormonism should own what they believe and stop acting as if their beliefs fit mainstream Christianity.
I don’t understand why Mormons want to sound reasonable of all of a sudden
Atheists won’t buy that becoming like God essay anyways.
Believers from other religions believe in some things that also defy reason so why do mormons feel bad or angry if someone says that you are gonna have your planet?
If you are a Mormon, own your Mormonism and provide straight answers to straight questions.
